This is a well made bbq, a step up from the cheap and cheerful ones available elsewhere.
Materials feel more substantial than others I’ve had in the past.
I assembled the bbq on my own in around an hour but it would definitely have been easier with another pair of hands. Instructions were pretty clear with all parts labelled for ease of assembly.
I got the optional extra double sided solid griddle/flat top which I haven’t used yet but simply swaps out for one of the cast iron grill plates and seems very well made.
I also got the cover which feels very good quality, not one of those thin and flimsy plasicky covers that tears at the first sign of inclement weather! It fits the bbq really well and is held in place with two Velcro straps, not the drawstring I’ve had previously that jam up, catch on everything and tear the cover!
My son bought, what we assume was, an older model of this same bbq which he had a couple of minor niggles with. All those issues have been adressed in my unit, so I’m very happy with that!
Overall I would definitely recommend this bbq for medium or large families. Plenty of grill space, the versatility to use it as a smoker and the added bonus of the flat top for smash burgers, smaller items, veg, etc. or even extra fatty foods that might cause flair-ups if cooked directly over the coals.
