I first bought a Weber BBQ, which lasted a reasonable amount of time before rusting and looking tatty. Since that purchase the price for the same BBQ had gone up an awful lot, so I decided to purchase a replacement from Argos. This was a 6 burner, up from 4, so was pretty decent on paper. In fact, it performed pretty well cooking-wise. What let it down, however, was the fact that only the lid and base / frame was stainless steel. The fire box was, in fact, steel. Guess what? It rusted. While it had rusted all over the fire box, the main issue was that it had rusted badly at the back, specifically on the tiny brackets where the burner covers sat. This meant that one of the burner covers had dropped on to the burner below, making a section of the BBQ unusable.
So, off I went browsing Amazon to find a suitable replacement. I saw the Cosmo Grill BBQs, so had a look on their website, directly. At the time I decided was going to go for the Platinum 4+2, but then egged myself on to get the Platinum 6+2 BBQ. I had to double check about spare parts, though, after being stung with two BBQs where one had outrageously priced parts and the other were simply not available. Sarah at Cosmo Grill was very helpful and responded very quickly, even with it being the weekend, too. She made me feel more comfortable in the product by saying it was all made from stainless steel - I knew it said it on the website, but wasn't sure whether that was just a bit of marketing.
I made a bit of a mess up ordering, as I didn't realise there was a combo offer of the BBQ and cover. Shivani at Cosmo Grill helped sort the order out and was very helpful. I also ordered the rotisserie attachment, too (why not!?).
The delivery was quick and came in no less than 5 packages, with two of them being huge boxes! I thought that either the BBQ was massive, or the packaging was over the top (spoiler, it was both!). Opening up the packaging I tracked down the instructions and went to work. There was relatively little polystyrene packaging, with cardboard being used instead - which I thought was a nice touch. I can't remember where I read it now, but I'm sure I read that it should take 1hr with two people. I was on my own, took it slowly, and it took me 1hr 20mins to build. I would say that the only sketchy bit was putting the firebox on to the stand, as I couldn’t see what I was doing due to the sheer size of it. Speaking of which; it's massive (in a good way). I remember when I finished putting it together, thinking how much it resembled the US-branded BBQs for £2k. I would say that the only real irritation for me when putting it together was that some of the images in the instructions were unclear - like the position of the battery holder for the igniter. When I installed it, roughly in line with the images, the bottom of the fire box (essentially a shelf) wouldn't slide in as the igniter was in the way.
Sarah was absolutely right, though, the BBQ is all stainless steel, with only the obvious components (controls, battery enclosure for LEDs and igniter unit, etc.) being made of plastic. I can't impress upon you how important to me a stainless steel BBQ is. As long as it's looked after well, it will last for a good number of years. I treat the outside with a very light coating of baby oil, which removes any fingerprints and marks. The inside gets a good cleaning with a brush (plastic, not metal, in my case) and a small amount of soap and water (which I wipe dry after it's cleaned).
I've had a dry run with the rotisserie - i.e. I've set it up and switched it on, that's it :). It worked fine, and I suspect whatever cook with it will be great. I've cooked with the BBQ twice, and it's got oodles of power. Heat is retained very well with the lid down. I love the dedicated back burner for the rotisserie and the side burner for pans, etc. I know it's sad, but I like the LED controls, plus the rain cover - I've bought a few from Amazon that while being cheap still offer a life-time guarantee. the problem I found with them is that you just don't want to get them replaced with yet another that will end up going grey and having holes appear. The Cosmo Grill very has a high GSM (by my reckoning when holding both old and this) and so I'm hoping will last a lot longer. It certainly makes water bead up when raining, rather than absorb like others have. I also like the fact that my gas canister fits inside! I'm assuming it's a 15KG canister as it weighs a fair bit and there still is 5cm or so above the top. This means I can leave it inside the BBQ, and not at the side, like all my previous BBQs - a nice touch.
You'll notice I've waffled a bit here, but I felt it was important to give more of a review than the other reviewers, as it might help others with their purchase decision - I thought there wasn't enough information from the reviewers, and so it was more me taking a punt with the purchase than getting s...
The professionalism of Cosmogrill is beyond this world. The website was quick and easy to use with testimonials from previous buyers was definitely the icing on the cake for me. I am very happy with the product
Really large and sturdy. Perfect for large family BBQs.
The BBQ arrived the next day flat packed. It took two of us 3 hours to put together as the instruction manual is not very clear. The least clear instruction is what you have to do with the gas connection. It has a solid black tube attached to a not so flexible hose. This has to be attached to the back of the control knob of the sdie burner. for the price I think that a hose and regulator should be enclosed.
Hi. Thanks for checking in. The BBQ lid has a dent in it and so does the front of the frame. The gas bars dont all light using the ignition. The main bar only ignites the right bar and not the left. Because the gas nossles do not line up with the bars the bars have caused the dials to bend out from the BBQ instead of sitting flush. Hopefully you can help me with these issues. Thanks.
Like you are probably doing right now- I searched through all the reviews to see if this was worth the purchase. It is. I have bought more expensive bbqs that were flimsy and didn't last long. This is £100 less and perfect for all bbqs, smoking and cooking indirectly. It has easy access to top charcoals up, and a nice winding lever to change the proximity if the coals to the food. I love it. It's neat, compact, the cover fits well. You can add a couple of bugers for a 2 person meal or smoke a big brisket and cater for 8. It's a worthwhile purchase. If I had any criticisms, it would be that the instructions could be improved. (It seems that they've upgraded a few bits, but not adjusted the instructions, so I spent a while looking for a piece that has actually been welded on to improve stability. Construction takes quite some time (anyone saying 40 mins is a genius or a liar). Allow some time and space to assemble, but bear in mind, the reason you a getting a superior quality bbq, for such a good price is that you have to do some of the work to put it together. In short, forget the one and two star reviews. It's amazing.
We have bought this for our new motorhome, not least because it is half the weight of the W product and is not round (like others) so packs into the M/H garage neatly. Appears exactly as described, and we have fitted a new hose to enable direct connection to the Motorhome. Test run in January!
After delivery we decided to buy the associated cover, which fits neatly and was also delivered within 2 days - despite being close to Christmas!
I bought this about 3 months ago from ManoMano. Like many I was impressed with the amount of BBQ for the money. Or what seemed that way.
The BBQ is made of cheap, Chinese steel. The paint easily chips when building. But I decided to proceed.
3 months of use later (About 8 BBQ’s due to a British Weather) it’s warped completely. The frame is twisted, the legs are bent and the lid doesn’t close properly, requiring constant adjustment. The internal coal rack is completely warped as it’s not really heat resistant.
I politely asked for a refund & so far have found it very difficult for Cosmo to accept that this just isn’t really built well.
If the metal was just a couple of mm thicker there wouldn’t be so much of an issue. But even smoking is completely impossible as the steel is so thin it doesn’t retain any heat.
Don’t waste your money.

I was disappointed to find that after a single us the bbq black paint finish had come off a lot of the edges. This should not be happening after just one use.

The barbeque came with marks on many peices and damage on some. It was built as per the instructions and does not close properly and the grill falls into the charcoal. Really disappointed.

Adjustable Stainless Steel Flame Tamer
Couldn't believe how quickly it arrived and the after service was excellent really well boxed labeled just awaiting the cover.
Easy to follow instructions to put together - 2 people for just under 2 hours . Works well and great to use .
Great service thank you…highly recommend
A great product, slightly long and tricky to assemble
Fairly easy to mount, it took me just under 1 hour. I found 2 of the legs were mislabeled which caused a bit of confusion at the beginning. however I spotted the issue fairly quickly and moved on. The material and structure are very robust and sturdy. The adjustable coal tray is really good to control the temperature during the grill. The smoking function is not that great, the lid doesn't close tightly and a lot of air flows in-and-out of it which makes the temperature control during the smoking of the meat much harder than it needs to be. Overall a good grill, I would definitely recommend it.
Received This quickly, but had some damage, (Cosmogrill blamed DPD) but this is clearly a quality control/ packaging issue as seems to be the same parts damaged as most people report in the reviews.
Smoker box damaged, charcoal tray for smoker box, trivet for the side burner and later discovered the grills for the smoker box. Contacted customer services and parts were sent, all ok.
One lid slightly out of shape, on assembly the paint on the inside of the smoker came off! Quality is not great, welds leave a lot to be desired.
Gas side of BBQ is not that hot with the lids open but cooks fine as an oven with the lid shut, some lighting issues as difficult to light left burner but centre and right light ok. charcoal side brilliant and yet to use smoker box, not sure how well it will work due to the gap under the charcoal lid. We will see.
On conclusion, overall not without issues but is clearly a cheap Chinese product could be made better with a better grade of steel and better quality control. But for the price it is functional.
It was easy to assemble and cooked the low and slow way I wanted. It will also grill like a traditional BBQ, so I have both options. Unlike my previous BBQ smoker. Great build quality and great value. The best BBQ out there.
What a fabulous BBQ. Such great quality and at a very reasonable price. I Had a small issue with a part which was dealt with, quickly, professionally and given an additional piece of equipment as a sorry for the inconvenience! Great customer service. Highly recommended.
Our Cosmo BBQ cover arrived on time and we are very happy with it
Thanks
very nice grill, looks fantastic once its together. Just a bit fiddly building it
